Fire is the element of power. The people of the Fire Nation have desire and will, and the energy and drive to achieve what they want.
Earth is the element of substance. The people of the Earth Kingdom are diverse and strong. They are persistent and enduring.
Air is the element of freedom. The Air Nomads detached themselves from worldy concerns and found peace and freedom. Also, they apparently had pretty good senses of humor!
Water is the element of change. The people of the Water Tribe are capable of adapting to many things. They have a deep sense of community and love that holds them together through anything.

It is important to draw wisdom from many different places. If we take it from only one place, it becomes rigid and stale. Understanding others, the other elements, and the other nations will help you become whole.

Props must also go out to Trishna87 for the colors, which really help this come alive. I really love the light/dark contrast, and that just enough light falls on Azula to show just how on the periphery she is— so close, yet so far.

Great stuff, even if it is more than a little depressing.

I really do think that this is a really strong picture of my Azula is the way she is.

These are all pretty cool, except for the ‘lust’ example.  Why not use Zuko and Mai making out, since it’s pretty much Word of God that they’d had sex when he returned to the Fire Nation in S3?  :/

i don’t really see katara and aang’s relationship in the series as a depiction of lust.

my favorite thing in modern day high school au avatar is azula and her aggressive nerd status and how she would threaten people to vote for her as class president with ty lee and mai as her unofficial presidential advisors

her campaign speeches would be like “if you vote for me, you shall be rewarded. my first course of action will be to ANNIHILATE the horrible lunch food selection and replace it with something more suitable. my subjects will eat well,”

she goes way past the time limit giving her speech and the teachers are too scared to stop her and in the middle of it ty lee and mai unfurl an american flag behind her to really drive the point home
